This cable works great as a replacement of my bad power cable for my Kinect connected to my old XBOX 360. My old cable was not giving power at all because the green light indicator isn't lighting up.

If you didn't buy the stand-alone Kinect Sensor system, this is the adapter you'll need to connect the Kinect camera with older XBOX 360 consoles (Xenon, Zephyr, Falcon, Opus, Jasper motherboards). One end of the cable will plug into the Kinect. This Y-shaped cable splits the connection: one USB to communicate with your XBOX 360 and another to plug into your A/C outlet for power.

I purchased this when I found out the kinect I would be getting wasn't going to come with the adapter for an older xbox 360. After I tried it out though my worries were quickly washed away as it works fine with the Microsoft Kinect. I'm sure there are some duds, but this one worked fine and was cheap.

Works great. Uses a USB port. My wife has an original Xbox 360. This is why I purchased this. Now we can video chat while im at work, and all the cousins and nephews can play kinect games while I'm away. Because my XBOX 360s goes with me!
